Nordic Pavilion Wins Gold for “Best Exhibit / Display”

The Nordic Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka has been awarded gold in the “Best Exhibit / Display” category at the World Expolympics. The awards honour outstanding achievements in innovation and experiential design at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan, which opened earlier this year with 193 exhibition areas presented on site. The Expolympics jury comprised experts in architecture, exhibition design, cultural storytelling, and experiential design, reflecting diverse creative perspectives from around the globe.

Gagarín was part of the winning creative team behind the concept and design of the Nordic pavilion, together with Danish design studio Kvorning and the Norwegian/Icelandic architecture studio Rintala Eggertsson. The joint Nordic exhibition showcases life in the Nordic countries, with a focus on shared values, modern societies, environmental awareness, and our enduring relationship with nature.

At the heart of the exhibition is "The Circle of Trust," a 20-minute immersive artwork that portrays the four seasons and life in the Nordic region. The experience is deepened by a soundtrack specially composed by Icelandic musicians Sindri Már Sigfússon (Sin Fang) and Kjartan Holm. The visual surface is constructed from 700 sheets of paper that flow together as one organic whole in the exhibition space.

The exhibition was produced under the supervision of Exponex from Czech Republic and Wintenex and Habegger from Switzerland.
