The Natural History Museum's new geological exhibition covers over 2000 square meters across four floors and provides an in-depth exploration of Earth's history and the evolution of life. Designed by Atelier Brückner in collaboration with Gagarin, the exhibition is housed within the museum's historic building and features innovative exhibits and modern storytelling techniques.
Working closely with museum scientists and lecturers, the Gagarin team created 27 interactive installations. The exhibition showcases over 2500 objects from the museum's extensive university collections, making it a landmark display of geological history.
One month after opening, the Museum of Natural History had 30,600 visitors. That is three times more than the average in recent years, and an all-time high for any month in the museum's history Natural History Museum Oslo
The European Museum of the Year Award
The European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA) was established in 1977 under the auspices of the Council of Europe to acknowledge excellence within the European museum community.
Founded on the principles of supporting, encouraging, awarding, and showcasing excellence and innovation in the museum field, EMYA particularly focuses on the areas conceptualised by Kenneth Hudson as 'public quality'.
The European Museum Forum (EMF) provides the legal and organisational framework for the annual European Museum of the Year Awards scheme (EMYA).
