We are happy to announce that Gagarin and Batteríið Architects are winners of a competition for an exhibition for the Norwegian Seabird Centre in Værlandet - an island off the west coast of Norway. The concept "Nature doesn't care - do you?" addresses the threats posed agains the sea bird population, issues of globalization and effects on the coastal region in Norway - using interactive installations.

The main objective for this exhibition is to enhance the user experience by making tangible interactive installations using creative methods. By actively involving the visitors we strive to make the exhibition experience engaging and thought provoking.

This is the first project that Gagarin and Batteríid Architects work together on, but both companies have worked on projects in Norway prior to this.

The Jury’s motivation reads as follows:
”Nature doesn’t care - do you" is the winner of the competition because the draft goes furthest in being thought provoking. The exhibition contains elements with a high degree of interactivity and has a built in escalation of narrative tension where the installations reinforce each other.”
